Two Poems ~ poetry by Glen Armstrong

Slash for Captain Marvel #15

One candle flickers beside the bed.

I put the box on the table.

Improvements were made to my shoe.

I am surprised to see a nice shine on her skin.

I interfere with feathers in her lap.

Zombie Game

This is a zombie game. The children see eyes hanging from sockets and the charred bellies of bathers at a resort. They want to continue as the need to acquire items is endless.

The rich man wants sublimation. The poor man wants television. The beggar man wants paper. The thief wants The Eye of Providence folded into itself as he works the shadowy streets.

We purchase flamethrowers, marshmallows, graham crackers and chocolate; fire extinguishers, Tums and running shoes. Our needs are never quite met. We purchase soap and back-to-school clothes to slow the burgeoning bodily throng. The world ends between add to cart and delivery.
