Best Microfiction Taps Two of Our Own!

What a terrific surprise the other day to learn that two stories we published in 2024 have been selected for the forthcoming Best Microfiction anthology by Guest Editor Dawn Raffel and Series Editors Meg Pokrass and Gary Fincke. Celebrate!

Congratulations to Barbara Diggs, for “Questions The Caseworker Should Have Asked After My Ex Accused Me of Neglect,” and to Addison Zeller, for “Holothurian.”

As I mentioned in my recent post nominating pieces for the Best Small Fictions contest, Dottie and I curate this journal with the idea that everything we publish stands a great shot at winning one of the annual awards. This makes the nomination process intensely difficult but also supremely rewarding. It’s even more rewarding to see work like Barbara’s and Addison’s acknowledged in such a public way.

If you haven’t already, hurry up and read the two stories. They’re micros so they only take a sec. And while you’re at it, revisit the other three nominees here.
